My name is Harvey Lopez. I live with my daughter and girlfriend in an apartment complex in McFarland. I currently work for Amazon and I'm a hardworking parent to support my family. Before this program, I was driving a 2001 BMW. It was old, expensive to maintain and I was constantly worried about it breaking down. I was spending a lot on gas and repairs. My car is something I rely on to get to work and take care of my family. I did not think switching to another car, especially an electric vehicle, was even possible for me because I did not want to take on a large loan. That changed when I found clean cars for all.

Through the program, I received hands-on support, not just incentives, but real help walking me through every step. I was helped with qualifying for the incentive and then choosing the right vehicle for my situation. Most importantly, I was connected to vehicles financing through the team at self help federal credit union when I received a loan with the terms I was comfortable with. The team also handed that process of qualifying for PG EV rebate for me. I did not have to figure it out on my own. I was hoping for the IRS tax credit, but the vehicle I wanted had already got one, so I didn't qualify. Throughout the entire transaction, I felt supported and confident. Today I am driving a plug-in hybrid and it made a big difference. I am now spending about half as much on gas. I'm not dealing with constant maintenance and my car is reliable. Charging can be challenging since I live in an apartment complex, but I charge when I can and I know once I'm able to more regularly, I'll save even more.
